This Chat App exclusively allows hearing impaired people in Switzerland a mobile communication with hearing persons using the telephone intermediation service of the Gehörlosenzentrale.
Using the iPad App the hearing impaired person is able to communicate on the way using chat and the conversation will be translated simultaneously from the staff of the Gehörlosenzentrale into speech.
The App establishes a direct chat link between the hearing impaired person and the Gehörlosenzentrale. The operator in the Gehörlosenzentrale then calls the desired hearing person and reads the text of the calling hearing impaired person. The response of the person who is called by the Gehörlosenzentrale is typed directly into the chat and the hearing impaired can read them immediately.
Within the app the transcripts of chats are stored in a chat history. In addition to this an e-mail can be send to a predefined e-mail address.
With the push notification, it is now possible for registered hearing impaired users to be reached by phone or called back. The Gehörlosenzentrale "pushes" a special message to the iPad of the hearing impaired person who is waiting to be called back.
